Working as Cabin Crew is much more than just travelling.
A cabin crew member is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and assistance of passengers during all phases of flight.
Throughout the training, you will learn how to act in emergency situations, provide first aid, fight fires, execute evacuation procedures, and work as part of a team in a demanding and international environment.
Upon successfully completing the course, you will obtain the Cabin Crew Attestation, which allows you to apply to airlines covered by EASA regulations.

HOW DOES THE COURSE IN PORTO WORK?
The in-person day course has a duration of:
3 weeks and 2 days
Classes take place from Monday to Friday, from:
9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
The main training takes place in person in Porto.
The two mandatory days of practical training are held in Lisbon, in partnership with the São Pedro de Sintra Volunteer Fire Department.
Before the course begins, the IFA team will communicate the venue, timetables, and all the necessary information.
Do you meet the requirements?
- Minimum age of 17 (you must turn 18 during the course), no maximum age
- Completed 12th grade (or equivalent)
- English level B1
- Ability to swim 50 metres without a life jacket (safety requirement)
- No medical examination required for enrolment

The Initial Cabin Crew Training in Porto includes:
86 hours of theoretical training
15 hours of practical training
Throughout the course, you will develop essential knowledge and skills to work as Cabin Crew.

- Aviation legislation and civil protection

- First aid and BLS (CPR)
- Crew Resource Management (CRM)

Practical Training (in Lisbon)
- Water survival training (in a swimming pool)

- Operation of doors and emergency equipment
- Evacuation in a real aircraft scenario

If you do not yet know how to swim, we recommend that you take swimming lessons before the course begins.
You are not required to undergo medical examinations to take the course.
However, airlines may require a medical certificate issued by a certified Aeronautical Medical Centre during the recruitment process.
If IFA cancels the course, a full refund of the amount paid will be made, in accordance with the applicable refund policy.
Postponement may be possible upon payment of the applicable fee and in accordance with the conditions set out in IFA’s policy.
