About Us

IFA - International Flight Academy

IFA is an international flight academy base in Portugal offering EASA ATO (Approved Training Organisation) courses. With three bases of operation (Cascais, Braga and Viseu) we have North/South national coverage and a reduced dependence on a single airport infrastructure.

At IFA we are committed to making your dreams come true. As aviation specialists, we have trained thousands of pilots and cabin crews over 26 years, which are presently flying in several airlines around Europe, Asia and Africa.

IFA has its own in-house maintenance conducted by IFA Industries (Part 145) which belongs to the IFA Group. Having our own in-house maintenance means total control over the quality of mechanical interventions and greater fleet readiness for instruction.

Approach to training – 3 step comprehensive training
3 Steps Comprehensive Training, means we believe in an inclusive and complete training where the student pilot starts flying with conventional instruments & airplanes, and progressively moves towards more complex machines and avionics that prepare him/her for an airline. Our goal is to forge our students for all kinds of professional challenges.

EASA certified training center As a fully accredited flight academy from EASA, we have built our name and reputation for over 25 years.

Our Bases

IFA has two bases in Portugal and is now expanding to Braga, making it three cities where you can study in Portugal. Our first base is located in the Aerodrome of Cascais, near capital city Lisbon. Our second base is located in the Aerodrome of Viseu, covering the northern region of Portugal. Both bases provide similar training conditions, for theoretical studies, exams preparation and flying hours. Additionally, in both bases the theoretical and practical classes occur in the same location. This is essential for the pedagogical quality of the course, and beneficial to our students: they can start the flight phase as soon as possible simultanously with the theory, in order to apply their theoretical knowledge in flight.
