How to obtain Embraer 190 Type Rating Certification

Obtaining Embraer 190 Type Rating certification involves completing the theoretical and practical training required to operate the aircraft. Upon successful completion of the course and applicable assessments, pilots are qualified to exercise the privileges associated with the Embraer 190 in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The academy training consists of computer-based training (CBT) sessions, theory, and APT. Students also receive Virtual Reality headsets that offer an artificial representation of the cockpit environment. During the theory portion, you need to pass 4 tests and a final exam.

The Embraer 190 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) training takes place in a high-fidelity replica of the E190 cockpit, providing a realistic training environment that closely replicates the aircraft’s operational conditions. Successful completion of an aptitude assessment is required before progressing to the next stage.

You will further develop your Type Rating skills during this stage through practical training on the actual Embraer 190 aircraft, including six take-offs and landings and one go-around. The training will take place at an agreed airport.

This stage takes 1 day and is scheduled within 2 months following completion of the previous stage.
