Why choose the ATR 42/72 500-600?
Regional airlines, charter flight operators, public transportation in islands or remote areas – all of these use ATRs daily. For a young pilot, achieving this type rating opens doors to their first airline job with a highly valued aircraft.
The ATR frequently operates in challenging environments: short runways, variable weather conditions, short flights with multiple sectors per day. All of this translates into real operational experience, which counts a lot on a resume.
In addition, flying ATR helps develop a solid technical foundation, both in manual piloting and systems management.
ATR is an excellent learning platform. It’s not an “automatic” aircraft like new-generation jets, which forces the pilot to think, manage the flight well, and develop an active operational mindset. For those starting out, this is a great school for commercial aviation.
