Classes are held at our facilities at Tires Aerodrome in Cascais. Experience the world of aviation in São Paulo!
The JOC provides the skills and mindset necessary for the transition from trainee pilot to airline pilot. With hands-on simulator sessions and real-world procedures, you’ll learn to operate as part of a professional flight crew—so that when your airline evaluation comes, you’re not just prepared, you’re ready. Designed for pilots entering airline recruitment programs or APS MCC, the JOC focuses on jet handling techniques, automation management, and multi-crew coordination. Training is conducted in a full-motion jet simulator, faithfully mirroring airline SOPs and real-world scenarios.
The MCC program allows students to participate in realistic multi-pilot aircraft operations, developing teamwork and mutual supervision skills, while training in an environment geared towards effective decision-making.
The JOC course prepares you to handle the most complex aircraft systems, facilitating the acquisition of the skills necessary for each element of the qualification. This course is fundamental for facilitating the transition between simpler aircraft and jet aircraft, before the start of a Type Rating, allowing you to develop the piloting techniques necessary to achieve better performance during the selection processes.
The JOC program covers the fundamentals of jet aircraft operation and familiarizes the student with the specificities and procedures associated with operating this type of aircraft.
The MCC focuses on teamwork and coordination among crew members, while the JOC focuses on developing your skills in operating and handling an A320 aircraft.
This training prepares you for airline selection processes and your first Type Rating training, helping to improve your performance and increase your chances of success.
In this way, you will acquire solid and comprehensive skills that will allow you to take the next step in your career and join an airline more quickly.
The MCC and JOC courses are conducted on an FNPT II A320 simulator, one of the most advanced and highly regarded simulators in its category.

Why take the Jet Orientation Course (JOC)?
The JOC was created to help pilots bridge the gap between initial training and the demanding environment of an airline. This course offers hands-on simulator training and introduces the fundamental concepts of operating commercial jets, preparing you not only technically but also mentally for the challenges of professional aviation.
JOC Benefits
- Facilitates the transition from theoretical training to the operational environment of an airline
- Develops essential cockpit management and teamwork skills
- It offers hands-on experience with automation systems and typical jetting procedures
- Increases confidence before the start of the type rating or an interview with an airline
- Improves performance in recruitment and selection assessments
- Introduces real-world flight scenarios with a focus on decision-making and problem-solving
- Complements the MCC with more technical training focused on individual performance
- Helps to internalize the role and responsibilities of the pilot in a commercial operation.
JOC in A320 or B737
JOC at IFA - A320 or B737 MAX Simulators
At IFA’s JOC, you will train on an advanced FNPT-II simulator, designed to closely replicate the procedures, systems, and flight environment of a commercial aircraft, with training available for both the A320 and B737 MAX.
This simulator allows you to develop “muscle memory” for the instruments, become familiar with the cockpit environment, and work with automated systems — all within a controlled and safe training environment.
You can repeat complex procedures and manoeuvres without operational risk, helping consolidate essential technical and operational skills. It is an ideal tool for building confidence and cockpit fluency before an airline screening, with structured briefing and debriefing sessions designed to maximise progress throughout each training session.
